Jesus Generation Centre

Overview

A popular Kid’s Club and Music School where pupils are not only taught how to play instruments but where they receive sound biblical teaching and are guided on how to apply it in everyday life.

Goals

To raise up gifted musicians and provide spiritual teaching and guidance.

The Project was established in 2000 by Pastor Jackie with the support of our Charity. It was initially a Primary School for poor children enabling them to reach a standard where they could move into State education. Following the provision of new State programs the school in its original form was closed in 2009.

The Ministry was re-birthed as the “Jesus Generation” Centre and Music School under the leadership of Music teacher, Marius Aslau and his wife Elena who work as volunteers. Around 50 children from San Nicolau Mic and outlying villages flock to Saturday meetings at the Centre with Christian programmes catering for all age groups. Elena’s experience as a psychologist and teacher is a great asset in addressing life issues facing teenagers today. Recently a volunteer English teacher has joined the team.

Classes at the Music School include theory, accordion, keyboard, guitar, mandalin, and drums. Groups of children accompanied by Marius and Elena participate in local church services. During the summer months there are also fun excursions, picnics, and evangelistic events.
